Luke 2:8-14
8 In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night.
9.And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. ....14
Tomorrow is Christmas. The most precious day is Sunday. Today Sunday school students also get presents and prepared hymns for Christmas. And today all the members will have lunch together. These days, children do not come to church to receive gifts because they are materially rich.
Today we have to think of Jesus as the master of Christmas. Jesus is God who became a man. God came in the body of man. We need to know about the sacrifice of Jesus. The fact that God became a man was lower than that which a man became a cockroach or muckworm.
A fallen angel tempted Eve in the form of a snake. This world is the world of the devil. The devil is a liar and a deceiver. After Eve was deceived by the devil, he became self-centered and greedy. So Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the good and evil. Then there was death and grief in the world.
The woman came from a man. Eve was made of Adam's ribs. After the fall of man, the way of conception has been changed into the law of unholy blood. After the fall of man, all humans have lived with self-centeredness. So the world was filled with conflict, jealousy and sorrow.
Jesus was born of the virgin Mary. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit. The first Adam was made of clay. However, the second Adam, was conceived by the Holy Spirit.
When a person becomes self-centered, he becomes a master. God pleases our life as God-oriented. God's will is that we live for human salvation. When the first Adam began to live in his own center, all his descendants were slaves of death.
There was Nero, a Roman emperor. He brutally killed many Christians. But he shed tears with a small wound in his flesh. He enjoyed the pain of others.
Christians must live for others. And we must live God-centered. Christians must serve God and live for the salvation of others. It is the only way to follow Jesus' footsteps.
