Genesis 2:18
Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him."
19. Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name.
20. The man gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the sky, and to every beast of the field, but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him.
21. So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place.
22. The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.
23. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man."
24. For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
25. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.
There was a wedding in our church last Friday. About 40 percent of Koreans are single. The start (departure) of a (the) family is a couple. "A man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh."(2:24)
The center of this world is human. Children come from a (the) couple. Recently, a (the) family is collapsing and the population is decreasing. It is a national crisis. God told us to have many children. Our church members try to have a lot of children. People in Korea say it is difficult to get a job and difficult to get married. In the meantime, they raise dogs, cats without giving birth to their children.
We are a distinct group in the world. I had a lot of concerns while preparing this sermon. I have no intention of condemning those who are single. So I want to ask for your understanding in advance. I only preach the will of God.
Some people don't get married for a variety of reasons, others do not have children.
(2:18) "It is not good for the man to be alone."
Being a single is not a sin. The Apostle Paul was also a single. But singles do not benefit much. It is not good for ruling on behalf of God, saving salvation, and it is not good for heavenly construction.
Adam made the names of all living creatures. At that time Adam was innocent. A woman means she came form a man. " she shall be called woman, for she was taken out of man." "I will make a helper suitable for him."
What is God's purpose for the world? It is for heavenly construction. Jesus was not interested in the honor and power of this world.
Then what does heaven construction mean? Heaven is a spiritual world. Heaven is where the Lord is. What specifically does heaven construction mean? for whom does heaven exist? It exists for the elect. It is God's purpose to make us fit for heaven. It is God's purpose to make us resemble God. There aren't sins in heaven, so there is no death. Heaven is the kingdom of light that is governed by God. There is no pain, illness, neither pain nor conflict in heaven.
The ability of AI(Aritificail intelligence) is excellent. But human brain is superior to AI. In the brain of person, there are hundreds of thousands of computers. Human is a human because they have freedom. God wants us to obey God with our free will. God did not make us as machines or robots.
What are the advantages and disadvantages do single life have? Single life is comfortable because he or she has no conflicts with others. Marriage has many difficulties. So people don't want to get married.
There are many singles in our church. They may not marry or have children unwillingly. However, it is a problem to decide not to marry or not to have children.
"It is not good for the man to be alone."(2:18)
As the number of children decreases, so does the number of Sunday school students.
We must obey God's Word. God gives a variety of circumstances. But we should not follow the waves of the world.
Let's think deeply about the Words of Genesis 2:18.
