<We have to prepare for tribulation.>
hymn 28
<On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross>
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
Till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some day for a crown..
hymn 102
<Father, I stretch my hands to Thee>
I do believe, I now believe,
That Jesus died for me
And that He shed His precious blood From sin to set me free. Amen.
============Word of God
Revelation 1:9-16
9. I, John, your brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
10. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trumpet,
11. saying, "Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea."
12. Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands;
13. and in the middle of the lampstands I saw one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His chest with a golden sash.
14. His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire.
15. His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters.
16. In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength. (본문 NASB 버전으로 변경)
Today, I'll preach Revelation 1:9-10. There is no unnecessary word in God's Word. The Bible is a book of salvation.
"I, John, your brother"(1:9)
God spoke through John. John the Apostle is the son of God and we are also the sons of God. So he is our brother. We have to follow the steps of his faith.
(1:9)"fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance which are in Jesus"-
Men sinned and were disconnected to God. The result is despair and death. But Jesus gave men life and peace again. Jesus saved men from sin. In Old Testament times, animals were sacrificed for the sins of human. Jesus became a sacrifice for our sins.
Why do we live? The people of this world live to eat better, wear better, play and enjoy. Why do students study? They study to live more comfortably. It is indeed empty!
Men was cut off from God by the deceit of the devil. But Jesus connected us with God again. We don't have to worry about what to eat or what to wear. We have enough to eat and wear.
We must focus our lives on life following Jesus.
When we live a life of faith, it is essential that tribulation comes.
The king of this world is an evil spirit. The politics, society, religion and unsaved people of this world are servants of the devil. The purpose of the devil is to break our relationship with God.
We have to live the life of Jesus. And we must live for Jesus. We must make others connect with God. We must help others to be true people. If we live in faith, there must be tribulation, friction and adversity. We may be mocked and beaten because of the name of Jesus.
So we have to prepare the tribulation in advance. Think of the story of ants and grasshoppers.
Time passes by. And the youth of life passes by, but the Word of God is eternal.
We must look at the eternal world of heaven. And we must obey the Word of God.
If we only eat sweet food, it will harm our health. If we listen to sweet words, it will be harmful to our personality.
Christianity is the path of the cross. God is eternal. God is the source of life, wealth and peace. Jesus took all our sins. So we became righteous. So we became the sons of God and can go into heaven.
We should not be afraid of tribulation, but prepare for tribulation in advance. We will get the fruit of glory.

hymn 91 <Faith of our Fathers>
Faith of our Fathers
living still in spite of dungeon fire and sword!
Oh how or hearts beat high with joy
when e'er we hear God's glorious word
Faith of our fathers holy faith!
We will be true to Thee till death. Amen.
<We have to prepare for tribulation.>
