<The World Hates the Disciples> p.174
18. "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
19.'If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own.
As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.
That is why the world hates you.
The word "the world" appears frequently in this text.
It was a Korean holiday (the Lunar New Year) last week.
Two pairs of newlyweds came to greet me last week.
I told them that the couple was 'one body'.
And I told them to love each other during their life.
But human changes as the years go by.
People are very similar.
The couple love each other at first, but their minds change as the years pass.
But if we love each other with God's love, the love will not change.
God is invisible to us, and the voice of God is not heard in our ears.
So people say they can not have faith.
Faith is grace and gift from God our Father. And faith is what we make.
'Making it' means 'to work hard'.
At first, no one believes God's existence, heaven, and hell.
If these facts are believed, then you are likely to be chosen by God.
There was a young man who cannot believe God.
He tried to believe God, but he didn't.
But after he married a faithful woman, his faith has improved.
So, faith is what we make.
(Parents need to know how important it is to nurture and educate their children.
And parents must manage their children thoroughly. )
Everything is God's providence to us.
Looking back our past, we can see that everything is God's grace and His providence and love.
God's world of faith is totally different from this world.
We live in a different dimensional world from this world of sin.
We have been chosen by God's grace.
The word 'the world' appears six times in this text.
What is 'the world'?
The world is a spatial concept.
This world means all of the material universe, not heaven.
"If the world hates you,"
But 'this world’ in the text separated us from unbelievers.
We live in this world, but not in the members of this evil world.
Adam and Eve were deceived by the devil and evil spirits became the master of this world for 6,000 years.
So this world is a world of evil spirits.
This world history is like a collection the history of individuals.
As I grew up, I had always listened to my mother's troubled story when I was a child.
If you write down what you've experienced in a book, it will be very thick.
The evil spirit seeks to eat the saints.
The history of this world is the history of the battle between God and Satan.
But God is not affected by evil spirits.
It is the providence of God to make us perfect like Jesus our Lord.
We are not the possession of this world.
Satan whispers us that human is more important than God.
It is humanism.
Christianity is a religion for God.
But other religions (Buddhism, Muslim, human philosophy, cultural politics...) are religions for human.
So this world hates us.
This world will hate us and at last they will try to kill us.
But this world is not forever.
Neither youth nor beauty nor wisdom is everlasting.
The true value of this world will be revealed in the final judgment. It is no use to cry then.
Do not love this evil world.
