  We are going to have a sacrament meeting(Lord's supper) today.

Matthew 26:36-41  (p.47)

36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, 'Sit here while I go over there and pray.'
37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled.
38 Then he said to them, 'My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.'
39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, 'My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.'
40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. 'Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?' he asked Peter.
41 'Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.'




  We will eat bread and drink wine at the sacrament meeting today.
The bread represents the flesh of Jesus, and the wine represents the blood of Jesus.
Jesus suffered and died on our behalf.
If Jesus did not die, we must suffer forever in hell.

  Baptism is a sign that we are washed from our sins.
It also meas we are dying and living again with Jesus.

  'Lord's supper' is eating the bread and drinking wine.
This eating is in remembrance of the blood and body of Jesus.

26:38 "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."
  The Lord suffered for my sins.
Then, what is sin? Sin is a violation of God's law.
We must look to God and depend only on God.
We are the ones who will receive the grace of God forever.
And we are those who will praise God forever with thanks.
But sin interrupts us between God and us.
If you sin, you will perish forever.

  Sin spreads like disease.
Flu is prevalent in our country nowadays.
In the 1900s, 50 million people died worldwide due to the flu. Like the flu, sin is contagious.
Sin is not inherited, but it spreads instantly.
Sin is transgression and destruction.
People don't know how horrible sin is.

  Our country is at present confronted with ideological confrontation.
During the Korean War, four million people died because of communism.  

  All humanity fell to death because of the fruit of good and evil.
Like this, God pays a severe punishment for sin.
Because of all the sin we make, we must suffer in hell forever.
Jesus was very sad because of our sin.
But the Lord died for our sins.
So we got clean. Jesus is the one who is in the body of man. All sins of mankind were carried to Jesus.
The burden was too big and heavy to Him. "with sorrow to the point of death"

  Jesus knew how big the  wrath of God was about sin.
And the Lord knew how big the punishment of sin was.
Let us consider the fact that Jesus was responsible for our sin and suffering.
We should be thankful to the Lord to the sacrament with the hope that we will never sin again.

2 Timothy 3:15 "and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."

  Today, there are no members to be baptized, but there are people who have learned the doctrine (baptismal confirmation).
After 6 months of being a member of a church, they will be trained about the doctrine.
This system is only in the Korean church.

Let's pray.

1 Corinthians 11:23 "and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said. This is my body, which is for you, do this in remembrance of me."

It is a remembrance of the redemption by connecting the blood of the Lord to my life and connecting the body of the Lord to my body.
It is a ritual of remembrance and a sign that oneself will live due to Jesus.

  We have to remember that Jesus was crucified for my sin.

  Let's pray.
  Those who have already been baptized must participate in the sacrament.
Those who were baptized in the Catholic Church should also eat bread and wine.
Baptism is only once in a lifetime.
It is an act of faith that God washed all my sins.
The bread symbolizes the suffering of the Lord.

  Let's pray.
"This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many fr the forgiveness of sins."
  We ate the body of the Lord and was given power to defeat sin.
Wine symbolized the Lord's blood.
Wine symbolized the death and blood of the Lord.
I must die for my sins, but the Lord died for me.
Let's think of the Lord who died for my sins.

  Let's pray.
  We have been saved from sin, death, and despair.
We have to stay away form sin.
