Revelation 1:1-3 pp.399
1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John.
2 who testifies to everything he say-that is the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

We have been studying the seven churches in Revelation for several weeks.
The seven churches of Revelation mean 'New Testament churches'.
Revelation records things to be done in the last days.
So there are many symbolic expressions in the book of Revelation.
This book was written by John the apostle.
(He is a different person from John the Baptist. )
He was not a martyr but had a life close to a martyr.
The Lord loved him so much among His disciples.
John the apostle wrote the book of John, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John and the Revelation in the Bible.
"The revelation of Jesus Christ"
The Revelation is the conclusion of the whole of the Old and New Testaments.
The main character of the Bible is Jesus Christ.
The name of Jesus means 'saving his people from their sins.'
If a man sinned, he should be punished.
The sin of breaking the law of God is eternal.
The wages of sin is death.
A righteous man goes to heaven but a sinner goes to hell.
We were able to go to heaven with the merit of Jesus Christ.
A righteous man means a man without sin, but there is no one who is without sin.
Since there is no one who is without sin, no one can enter into heaven.
Although there is no one who is righteous, one becomes righteous when one believes in God's righteousness as one's own righteousness.
Jesus, who is God's righteousness, died on the cross for the vicarious penalty and vicarious act.
He also received the vicarious penalty of hell.
Also, He resurrected after 3 days.
This becomes one's own righteousness when one believes in all these things.
This is called God's righteousness.
'Jesus' is a name which means 'God will save His people from their sins'.
Jesus is also the savior to all the believers.
We have been forgiven our sins by the atonement of the Lord and have been recognized as righteous and connected with God.
‘Christ’
'Christ' means to become anointed.
It also means God who came as Jesus by having the offices of a priest, prophet and king.
The name of Jesus Christ contains these three roles of Christ.
'priest' : an office which takes charge of my sin and prays to God that I may be forgiven and be made a complete man in terms of morality.
'Prophet' : An office that teaches the will of God to me and makes my knowledge and wisdom complete.
'King' : An office that leads, protects and rules over me eternally and reigns over all the creations and angels.
Revelation means to 'open and show'.
It is a record of what will happen in the end of times.
The Bible is all about Jesus Christ.
And the purpose of the Bible record is our salvation.
Salvation is escaping from the penalty of hell because of the works of Jesus in which we received the forgiveness and justification.
Thus we also became sons of God.
And we have eternal life in heaven.
Salvation is received by faith.
Jesus the Son redeems us by His blood.
Because of the Holy Spirit, we are able to believe and be sanctified.
Faith is being obedient to the inspired word of God with our mind and body.
The Bible consists of 66 books.
It is God's knowledge that is inspired by the Holy Spirit and all the stroke of pen in it is infallible and accurate.
Revelation records what will happen in the future.
The Lord transcends time and space.
Jesus Christ is the master of Revelation. The purpose of the book of Revelation is to make us like Jesus Christ our Lord.
The center of the world is the church and the christian.
All the history and events of this universe are related to our salvation.
This world is the place to prepare for heaven.
When a person dies, the preparation for heaven is over.
We have to remember "The revelation of Jesus Christ."
